The Morning market is the biggest and most popular shopping centre in Vientiane. A Singapore company, Excalibur Group of Singapore has put $27 million US dollars into renovating the Morning Market into a new five-storey shopping complex and it is expected to be finished by 2009, but some structures will be finished and put into use earlier.

The Don Chan shopping complex near the Don Chan Palace is scheduled to be finished a few years earlier than the new Morning market. Vientiane will have two big shopping centres, the new Morning market in the city and the Don Chan shopping complex on the banks of the Mekong river and lets not forget that we already have the new international standard shopping centre at the International Trade Exhibition Convention Centre (ITECC).

Vientiane is developing into a more beautiful and modern city and our tourism is growing each year.
